What it is: The five-seat Escape is Ford's entry in the popular compact SUV class. It offers a choice on three four-cylinder engines and front- or all-wheel drive. Competitors include the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5 and Chevrolet Equinox.

A new uplevel SEL trim includes leather upholstery, a authority liftgate, impassioned side mirrors, rear parking sensors and Ford’s Sync 3 touchscreen multimedia system. Meanwhile, the SE trim gains impassioned head seats and roof rails, during the time that the top-of-the-line Titanium trim adds a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, navigation, active garden help and high-intensity-discharge headlights.
